Welcome to the Evergreen Chinese Academy.
We established the Evergreen Chinese Academy in 2005. The Evergreen Chinese Academy is fully accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. We offer high-school foreign language credits. The academy is also a member of the Chinese School Association in the United States.
The mission of the Evergreen Chinese Academy is to teach Chinese language, customs and culture in a nourishing environment to develop and enhance students’ Chinese proficiency and prepare them to meet the challenges of an intensely competitive global society. In addition, the Academy aims at promoting cross-cultural understanding, cultivating appreciation of Chinese heritage and culture through language classes as well as participation in local community events and activities. We strongly believe that a dynamic and relevant curriculum, delivered with innovative instructional strategies grounded in language acquisition research, will provide a strong framework for language learning to occur.
Our curriculum is based on Standards for Chinese Language Learning developed by the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS). Our approach is appropriate for children and adults in the United States, interactive and engaging. Teachers use instructional strategies that are derived from current research in Chinese language teaching and learning, aiming at mastery and fluency. In addition to age-appropriate textbooks, our instructional materials include children’s literature, DVDs, online activities, CDs, movies, and games.
The academy is housed in a church building with over 10,000 sq ft. We have well-equipped classrooms, computer lab, library for students, professional library for instructors, kitchen (we offer free, homemade breakfast), music room, Taichi room, and a newly constructed outdoor playground.

长青中文学院在这一趋势下诞生，并在科研教学中快速成长。是获得美国西北学校认证机构全面学分资格认可的中文学校。我们针对学生的不同年龄、不同语言基础来开设各等级的中文课程，另外还开设中国民族舞蹈课程、中国国画课程、太极课程及武术课程。让学生有机会全面接触中国文化的精华。
学校师资雄厚，采用集体培训，小组教学等方式，为教学效果奠定良好的基础。学校藏书丰富，资料系统，为教学提供坚实的后盾。

雷吴润瑛教授
Dr. Douglas Louie is a physician, a psychologist, and a pastor. He is the founding pastor of the Chinese Christian Church of Tacoma, the founding director of the Chinese Community Center, and the Co-principal of the Evergreen Chinese Academy. Dr. Louie holds more than 10 academic degrees, 6 of which are graduate degrees. Belinda Louie is a Professor of Education at the University of Washington, Tacoma. She received degrees in English, History, and Education, specializing in literacy and language education, teacher training, and juvenile literature. Professor Louie helps to establish the Chinese Community Center. She is also the founding Co-principal of the Evergreen Chinese Academy. Drs. Douglas and Belinda Louie established the Professor Belinda Y. Louie Endowed Collection of Children’s Literature for the University of Washington Library system.
雷向荣医生是一位心理学博士和牧师。他是华人基督教会的创堂牧师、 华人社区中心的创办人、 长青中文学院的校长。雷医生获取十多个学位，其中6个是硕士和博士学位。雷吴润瑛博士是华盛顿大学教育系教授。她获取英文、历史、和教育学位。她是华人社区中心的创办人、也是长青中文学院的校长。 雷博士专长于语文教育, 師資訓練及少儿文学。雷医生和雷博士在华盛顿大学捐設雷吴润瑛博士兒童文学中心。
